How to Save 40% off your Roetz via tax benefits

More and more people bike to work. They avoid traffic jams and find a parking space easily. Bikers arrive at work on time, are more relaxed, satisfied and productive. And, hey, instead of fossil fuels you burn calories!

Almost every European country offers tax benefits to promote cycling to work. Making use of it is as simple as riding a bike! You pay for your new bike with your gross salary. As employee, you agree to ‘sacrifice’ a portion of your salary in exchange for a tax break as this amount is exempted from income taxes.

SAVING 40% IN JUST FIVE STEPS

To benefit from the Dutch scheme, called werkkostenregeling or ‘fiets van de zaak’, follow these simple steps:

1. CHECK WITH YOUR EMPLOYER

Just to be sure, ask your employer about the terms and processes in your company.

2. MAKE YOUR CUSTOM ROETZ

Design your Roetz-Bike in the configurator, add it to the shopping cart and choose WKR as payment method. You will receive a quotation from us via email.

3. SUBMIT THE QUOTATION

Hand in the quotation at your employer (often the Human Resources department) or intermediary such as FiscFree and BFN in the Netherlands.

4. CONFIRMATION

As soon as we receive payment from your employer or a third party, we send you an invoice and start making your custom Roetz-Bike in our Amsterdam-based Fair Factory.

5. ENJOY YOUR RIDE

As soon as your bike is all set, we’ll send it to your bike shop or your home address.

Good to know: the tax benefit applies to the bike, accessories and bike insurance.

Calculate your tax benefit

We found a great tool to calculate your savings. Check out the tool on Nationale Fietsprojecten.

Tax returns per kilometer

You can also get tax returns for your commute to work. The amount differs per country. In the Netherlands you can book 19 cents per kilometer as costs. German bike commuters may apply the ‘Pendlerpauschale’ with 30 cents per kilometer. Make sure to check the regulations in your country!
